PCA: Bilokur Beats Duhamel Heads-Up in High Roller
Less than one day after amateur Jonathan Dibello defeated a final table stacked with pros, Leonid Bilokur upset an even tougher line-up at the final table of the $25,000 High Roller event at the PCA tournaments in the Bahamas to win the tournament, pick up $1,134,930, and best the red hot Jonathan Duhamel heads-up for such an honor.
With 141 runners, seven of whom re-entered into the tournament, the prize pool for this tournament was a big one, and all of the players at the final table were fiercely battling for the big payday.  Jason Koon came into the action as chip leader, with Duhamel hot on his heels. Left with a handful of chips, Koon exited a few hands later, while Duhamel, Isaac Haxton, and Bilokur headed into three-handed play.
That early double up from Koon kick-started a hot streak for Bilokur that would last for the entire final table. Bilokur was cruising along with a pile of chips, but Duhamel rallied during three-handed action and took the chip lead into heads-up play after eliminating Haxton in third place.
Duhamel began heads-up action on top, but Bilokur chipped away at his younger opponent until he eventually took a slight chip lead of his own.  The two battled back and forth, but in the end, Bilokur pulled out front again and Duhamel decided to take a stand by four-bet shoving K4. Bilokur called with A7 and held as the board ran out AJ9JA.
That pot gave Bilokur the title and what is far and away the biggest payday of his career.  His previous high score was a win in an EPT Berlin side event in 2010 worth $236,019.  ike Dibella, the Ukrainian Bilokur, 37, proved that older players can still contend with the young pros at the highest level of competition.
Duhamel missed out on a big win, but it is fair to say no single player generated more buzz at this year’s PCA than the 2010 WSOP Main Event winner.  Thanks to five cashes, including four six-figure paydays, Duhamel walked away from this year’s PCA with over $1.2 million in winnings.
Here are the final table results from the $25,000 PCA High Roller Event:
              1st: Leonid Bilokur – $1,134,930
                2nd: Jonathan Duhamel – $634,550
                3rd: Isaac Haxton – $380,730
                4th: Jason Koon – $271,950
                5th: Nicolas Fierro – $217,560
                6th: Govert Metaal – $181,300
                7th: Mike Telker – $145,040
              8th: Randy Lew – $108,780 |
