Our new VIP system has been a long time in the works, and we’ve spent countless hours ensuring every single SunPoker player will benefit from such a change. Typically these types of changes indicate an overall decrease value to the players, but we’ve done the complete opposite.
With the new VIP System, 5 new levels have been added making it extremely easy to upgrade levels and place you in a better position to earn more money back for your loyalty to SunPoker.
Shine Points earned per $1 rake fluctuate passed on VIP level thus making it that much more of an even level playing field for all players to generate more free cash!

Irish Open 2012
SunPoker continues its travels around the world, stopping at the most luxurious and lucrative land based poker tournaments; next stop…Dublin, Ireland for the the 2012 Irish Open
This and every Sunday in March SunPoker is awarding a €4,600 Full Event Package to the Irish Open, the package will include:
- €3,200 + €300 Buy-in to the Main Event.
- €395 for 5 nights’ accommodation and breakfast at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, April 5th – April 10th, 2012.
- €50 for handling fees.
- €655 for flights and spending.

Amateur triumphs over pros at the WPT LA Poker Classic
With a stacked final table that included four of the top young players in poker it was easy to overlook the chip-leader entering the final day of the WPT LA Poker Classic, Sean Jazayeri, but by the end of the day the man who went to the WPT Boot Camp to pick-up a few pointers managed to hand-out a few pointers of his own, as he went virtually wire-to-wire at the final table to win the WPT LA Poker Classic and the $1.3 million first-place prize-money.
Jazayeri kicked off his final table run with a bang, winning a coin flip on the second hand of play to eliminate Somerville in sixth place. Jason Burt was the other short stack when play began and, though he managed to double up once, he only lasted 12 hands at the final table before falling to Kelly. Burt called all-in on a K43Q board with KJ for top pair while Kelly held J[10c] for an open-ended straight draw. It was a dramatic river card as the A gave Kelly a straight to send Burt to the rail.
Jazayeri defeated a field of 549 players, a field that anyone who played in it can tell you was stacked to the brim with top poker talent. In an event where past LAPC winner Ivey just missed out on the money, Jazayeri picked up the biggest payday of the WPT’s tenth season and showed a table full of young pros just who is the boss.
