Steps Tournaments Continue
SunPoker’s Steps Tournaments continue to build up as players are challenging each other internally as to who can climb to the top the fastest and who will cash in the $200,000 Guaranteed first!
What step will you start at? Take the first step for only $0.16 and work your way to the top of the mountain for a $215 token to the $200,000 Guaranteed Tournament or would it be at a higher step getting you that much closer to top!
Either way, reaching for $200,000 has never been cheaper or this much fun with SunPoker’s Step Tournaments!
These tournaments are 10 player Sit 'N' Go’s every time you win a tournament you will receive a token to the next step, now of course players can buy in directly to any Steps Tournament at any level, which means you don’t need to start at the bottom!
The tiered structure of Steps Tournaments gives you the opportunity to work your way up from Step 1 to 7; the tournaments are designed to keep you in the game!
If you don’t proceed to the next Step, don’t panic, you can win a token either to repeat the same step or at a lower step. Alternatively you can use any winning tokens, from Step 2 on, to buy in to any of the tournaments listed in the table below with an equivalent buy-in amount.

November Niner Takes Down World Poker Tour Malta Main Event
It has been quite the year for 26-year old Matt Giannetti, not only has he reached the delayed final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event, but over the weekend he also took down the inaugural World Poker Tour Malta Main Event.
Giannetti beat out a strong field of 240 players securing himself an impressive $273,200 first-place prize, the WPT Champions Cup, and entry into the season X finale, the $25,500 WPT World Championship.
The final hand came when Pescaglini called Giannetti’s all in with Q 10 on a 10 8 2 board. Giannetti held 9 7 for the open-ended straight draw and did not have to wait too long as the J fell on the turn. He had to swerve a 9 on the river to stay ahead and he did as it fell the 2.
The Italian had to settle for $159,412 for her second-place finish. After his win, Giannetti tweeted, “God damn, I am a lucksack, so mad how I played, way too much run good expended… Happy I won but feel like I don’t deserve it.”
Wonder if he will feel the same way in November on the WSOP final table.

Tournament Time Change
We would like to bring to your attention a change in start time and game format to certain tournaments at SunPoker effective October 1st

Beginning October 9th, the Sunday $200,000 tournament will play at 17:00GTM instead of 18:00GMT.

The 19:45 Wednesday tournament which features a $100+9 buy in and $15,000GP will be changed to a freezeout tournament with the same GP.

The 19:45 Thursday tournament which features a €100+€9 buy in and €15,000GP will be changed to a freezeout tournament with the same GP.

The 18:30 daily dollar tournament will move to play at 19:00 and will be changed to a R/A instead of the current 1 rebuy allowed.

The 18:00 daily $30+$3 R/A $6,000GP tournament will move to play at 17:50.

The 18:45 $50+$5 R/A guaranteed tournament prize will be postponed to 19:20
Also be on the look out for a new Leader board race dedicated to Limit Hold’em cash games players, giving away over $100,000 in cash prizes and tournament tokens coming towards the end of October!
