Hand for Hand play was first introduced to SunPoker in September 2010 where multi-table tournaments with an entry of $10 or less enjoyed the benefits of the new security feature.
Starting April 5th 2011 we are pleased to activate the Hand for Hand feature on all of SunPoker’s tournaments, including satellite and private tournaments!

The Hand for Hand feature will be implemented as follows:
              Main Tournaments (MTT)

                - 1 player before the final table.

                - 1 player before a prize increase of 50%.

              Satellite Tournaments (MTTs and SNGs)

              SNG’s (None Satellites)

What exactly is Hand for Hand?

Hand for hand play in tournaments is used when large changes in prize money are imminent, such as on the bubble.  What happens is each hand at each table is dealt at the same time.  When a table finishes the hand, it may not start a new hand until all of the other tables have finished their hands.
Hand for hand play is used to prevent stalling.  If hand for hand play didn’t start right before the bubble, the tournament could become a stall-fest for all the short stacks who are just trying to squeeze in to the money.  Hand for hand play eliminates any advantages gained by stalling.
SunPoker Hand for Hand (H4H) play in regular MTTs will activate firstly when the prize money stage is "On the bubble" Normal play will resume once players are "in the money" with H4H play occurring again just before the Final Table is reached.
For Satellites H4H play will activate when the tournament reaches a stage where there are 2 players still to be eliminated before the seats to the next round are won.
On all occasions when H4H is activated you will notice that your chat will be disabled for this period only. Normal player chat will resume as soon as the H4H period is finished.
This is just another one of the many improvements SunPoker brings to you.

Ali Eslami wins WSOP Circuit Western Regional Championship
The final table of the $10,000 World Series of Poker Circuit Western Regional Championship took place on March 30th 2011 at the Harrah’s Rincon near San Diego, California. The final nine had emerged from a field of 98 players and there were many big names who were still in the hunt. In the end though, only one big-name player would stand at the top of the field with the gold ring and $282,242 top prize.
That professional was Ali Eslami, who before this year concentrated primarily on cash games. In 2011 he switched his attention to tournaments, partially at the suggestion of Los Angeles Lakers’ owner Jerry Buss, and the decision has been paying dividends. Earlier this month Eslami took second place in the The Big Event bounty shootout tournament at the Bicycle Casino, which was good for $56,000.
That was the largest tournament cash of his career until tonight. Eslami claimed the first major title of his career when he beat Tim West in a lengthy heads-up final and his career tournament earnings now stand at $648,789. Eslami also cashed in the main event at The Big Event earlier this month and for his three cashes he earned $347,242.
West was awarded $174,443 as the runner-up in the tournament and he also recorded a very strong month of March at the felt. West won the Wynn Poker Classic main event to earn $318,738 earlier this week, and at the start of the month he cashed in the World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic main event. West took home $536,981 in March.
The other big names at the final table did not fare as well. Steve Brecher cashed in fourth place, which was good for $90,223, and he took his career earning to more than $2.1 million. Dwyte Pilgrim missed out on winning his third gold ring when he exited the field in seventh place. Pilgrim was awarded $38,808 and he also grabbed a seat in the WSOP Circuit National Championship, which will take place at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas May 27-29.
