LIVE POKER TOURNAMENTS AT THE PALACE WILL DETERMINE DETROIT’S BEST PLAYER

From the Palace to Las Vegas…
A Seat At The Main Event is in the Cards

Auburn Hills, MI - - SunPoker.com is looking for the best Texas Hold ‘Em poker player in Michigan to represent ‘Sun’ in the 2006 Main Event. A series of eight free online qualifying tournaments (see schedule below) at www.sunpoker.com will qualify contestants to take part in the eight live poker semifinal tournaments at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The first live semi-final round, to be played at The Palace of Auburn Hills will be Saturday, January 7, 2006 prior to the Pistons vs Utah Jazz. WDFN 1130 AM will serve as the presenting sponsor for the tournament and afternoon hosts Stoney and Wojo (Mike Stone and Bob Wojnowski) will emcee the events. The winner of each live semifinal tournament will qualify for the final table on April 16th, 2006 at 3:00 PM in the main concourse of The Palace where the “King of the Palace” will be crowned.

For the next three months, online qualifying tournaments will be held to win seats at live semi-final rounds held at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Eight winners from these live rounds will be declared and will play in the Grand Final round on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at The Palace. The winner of the Grand Final will be crowned “King of the Palace” and will represent the state of Michigan in the 2006 Main Event in Las Vegas, including round trip airfare, hotel accommodations and a seat a the main event.

In addition to the eight online qualifiers, an exclusive partnership with WDFN-AM will allow listeners to play for one of two additional seats at the live semifinal tournaments via a separate online qualifier at SunPoker requiring the special WDFN password.

Interested players can download the free SunPoker.com software, register for an account and then sign up to reserve a free seat online for the King of the Palace tournament. Winners in these free online tournaments will compete at The Palace in the live semi-finals rounds to be held through January, February, March and April. The King of the Palace tournament is open to all of Michigan. Online qualifiers to the live semi final event will receive tickets to that nights Basketball game. If someone does qualify for a seat and does not show up at the Palace on the night of the live tournament, a replacement player will be selected from the crowd at the arena.

The “King of the Palace” Tournament is part of the country’s first-ever live poker room on wheels tour. SunPoker.com is launching a year-long, nationwide tour to teach America how to play poker like the pros. With its fully customized RV featuring a live poker room, SunPoker is on a mission to teach America how to play and win at poker. Players will have a chance to improve their poker skills and possibly win a seat at the 2006 Main Event.

Traveling across the country in a 35-foot fully functional poker room, SunPoker.com is bringing its mobile poker game to players who might not otherwise know how they can participate in the granddaddy of all poker tournaments, the Main Event which is held each summer in Las Vegas. SunPoker.com is giving away a $10,000 seat to the Main Event for free. Launching December 30th at the Peach Bowl, the SunPoker.com RV will visit more than 30 cities throughout the U.S. in 2006.
