Live Events - WSOP DreamShot
SunPoker.com and Bluff Magazine are hosting a WSOP "Dream Shot" Free Roll Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament giving two Wounded Warriors seats to the 2006 World Series of Poker.
”Cowboy”
Kenna James is saddling up for a ride into San Antonio Texas
on June 19th and 20th to run the Dream Shot Tournament that
will end with two Wounded Warriors winning seats to the 2006
World Series of Poker at the Rio Hotel & Casino of Las Vegas
in July courtesy of Bluff Magazine and SunPoker.com.
“I am proud to be a part of the Dream Shot Tournament, and I am looking forward to the “Basic Training” coaching session for all the Wounded Warriors in advance of the tournament, and also working with the two winners personally in Las Vegas before the main event.” Kenna said in a phone interview.
“I know public opinion of war may be divided,
but these men and women who’ve put themselves in harms
way for their country need our support, and I would like to
            do my share.” Kenna added.
Kenna’s trip to San Antonio will start with a visit to
Brooks Medical Hospital on Monday June 19th at 11:00 to meet
and chat with some of the wounded soldiers and a tour of the
facility. Then at 6:00 PM on the that same day over at Dave
& Busters [link to their website] (440 Crossroads Blvd.)
he will be hosting, poker “Basic Training”, which
is designed to teach the wounded warriors who might otherwise
not know, when to hold ‘em, and when to fold ‘em.
            At 8:00 PM, Kenna will
switch
it into high gear with a more in depth look at some of the nuances
of the game that separate winning from losing.
The actual WSOP “Dream Shot” tournament will begin promptly at 6:00 PM on Tuesday the 20th again at Dave & Busters, where 100 Wounded Warriors will begin the battle of the felt, and two players will win seats to the 2006 WSOP in Las Vegas, and a chance at the estimated $80 Million prize pool.
As if that was not enough, Kenna has also pledged to donate 1% of ALL his poker tournament winnings this year to the Wounded Warrior Project, and SunPoker.com is going to match that number as well.
This will be the first of many events that Kenna, SunPoker.com and Bluff Magazine will be doing to help raise awareness and funds for the WWP. Please stay tuned for the listing of future events designed to help the Wounded Warriors.
